Pros And Cons Of Weig htloss Boot Camps

Just like most everything else in life there are pros and cons of weight loss boot camps. People who are overweight sometimes think that the only way they will ever lose the weight is to pack up their belongings and go live, sometimes in another state, in one of these camps.

That very well may be. Sometimes that is what it takes for someone to reach the goals they need to reach and there is nothing wrong with this. Lots of people can only "perform" when they are being pushed and prodded to do so. That is where they find their motivation.

Let's take a look at some of the pros and cons of weight loss boot camps:

Pros:

1. Losing excess weight

2. Reaching fitness goals

3. Learning about healthy nutrition

4. Learning new, fun ways to exercise

5. Pushing yourself farther than you ever thought you could go

6. Meeting new people and making new friends

7. Visiting an area of the country that you may never have thought you would otherwise

You get the idea. These are just a few of the benefits of joining one of these camps. While you are there you may find more things that you would call a benefit. It is all in the eye of the beholder, for the most part.

Some of the cons:

1. These types of camps are expensive. They can run you thousands of dollars depending on the length of your stay.

2. Intense physical demands placed on your body

3. Mentally tough. You will need to draw on an inner strength that you may or may not know that you have. (This could possibly turn into a pro, if you let it.)

There you have it. We have all heard the saying, "That that doesn't kill you makes you stronger", right? Well, if you join one of these camps in the first few days you may think you are going to die but after the first week or so you will begin to notice a difference in how you feel when you wake up in the morning.

One morning you will wake up and the soreness and stiffness will be gone and you will actually feel energized and strong. You will have realized that you have had one of the best night sleeps that you have had in a long time and you feel rested despite the intense physical exercise.

There might be a point when you feel like kicking yourself for not doing something like this sooner. That you wasted a lot of years feeling sorry for yourself or whatever the problem was.

What you need to tell yourself is that everything happens when it is supposed to and that the past should be left in the past and now is the time to move on and be the new, wonderful person you have created and start enjoying life again.

It is always a good idea to "weigh" the pros and cons of new situations so you know what you are getting yourself into and that includes weighing the pros and cons of weight loss boot camps.
